Where discipline meets excellence

School Rules & Guidelines

A set of rules play a key role in enabling children to realize the true value of integrity, and the school firmly believes that students can realize their true potential through self-discipline.

1Rules And Norms

It is imperative for parents to come for Orientations, PTMs, and Result declaration in order to be aware of their ward's progress. Parents' presence during the theatre presentations, annual days, and special event days become a motivating factor for their wards to perform better and be closely involved in the school curriculum.

Parents can meet teachers on the working Saturday with prior intimation. If parents wish to discuss academics, it is recommended that they bring along their ward's notebooks. Except for these Saturdays, parents are requested to make a prior appointment through the school diary with the teacher or counsellor, whenever necessary.

Parent Teacher Meetings (as per dates given in the calendar) should be attended regularly. These meetings are held to discuss the performance and progress of the children.

2School Visits And Interaction

  • Parents are requested to co-operate and support in the proper functioning of the school by enforcing regularity and discipline in their wards, ensuring the school rules are observed both by them and their wards.
  • Parents visiting the school for any reason must have a valid school identity card. The parent must co-operate with the security guards as these steps are meant for the security of all the children.
  • Parents are not permitted to enter the classrooms or meet the class teachers during school hours. In special cases, the teachers may be met with a prior appointment only at the school reception.
  • Parents are requested to inform the school in writing if there is any change in particulars like name, address, telephone number, etc.
  • The school accepts no responsibility for any injury due to any accident caused by the negligence of the bus driver, or any road hazard during picnics and excursions.
  • The school accepts no responsibility for any injury within the school premises. Only First Aid shall be provided in such cases. All major expenses will be borne by the parent/guardian.
  • It is recommended that parents should check the CBSE website regularly to keep themselves updated.
  • Meeting the Principal – The Principal will be available to meet parents on all working days with a prior appointment.

3School Diary

  • Every student must carry the diary to school daily. Parents must read the contents of the diary carefully and abide by the rules laid down.
  • It is important to fill up the first pages of the diary. This information is required if the teachers need to get in touch with parents. Any changes in address or phone number must be communicated to the class teacher in writing.
  • The school diary serves as a ready planner for homework. Parents must go through the diary every day and sign entries from the school, if any.
  • If any parent wishes to meet a teacher, an appointment should be sought through the diary.

4Attendance and Absence

  • The school reserves the right to dismiss a student who is irregular in attendance, whose academic progress is repeatedly unsatisfactory, or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • Attendance on the first and last working day (before and after vacation) is compulsory.
  • For periodic tests, leave applications must be submitted to the Principal with a medical certificate attached within 48 hours of joining the school in case the student was unwell.
  • 75% attendance is mandatory as prescribed by CBSE to be eligible to appear for exams.
  • In case of long absence for more than 5 days without intimation to the school, the name of the student will be struck off after 10 days from the school rolls. Re-admission will be only at the discretion of the Principal.

5School Transport

  • The school has an arrangement with an external agency for plying on various bus routes. All safety rules are adhered to; however, the school will not be responsible in case of any mishap on the roads.
  • The bus routes are designed with diligence and due deliberation. A minimum of one month's notice is required before a student can discontinue the use of school transport.
  • Orderly and disciplined behavior is expected from bus users. The school reserves the right to withdraw the bus facility by giving a week's written notice for inappropriate behavior.
  • Students are not allowed to change their buses for any reason (e.g., visiting friends or relatives).
  • Students must not damage or destroy the fittings of the buses. Cost of any damage shall be recovered from the parents.

6Discipline & Property

  • No student will be allowed to leave the premises during school hours unless permission has been sought in writing.
  • Violent and abusive behavior within the school premises will be strictly dealt with.
  • Habitual indiscipline and disrespectful behavior towards teachers or damage to school property will be a sufficient reason for suspension from the school.
  • Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not permitted. If found, a fine of Rs. 1,500 will be charged and the item will be confiscated until the student graduates.

7School Uniform & ID Cards

  • Students should come to school in the correct and prescribed school uniform at all times.
  • Students must always have their nails trimmed, shoes polished, and hair neatly combed. Nail polish, dangling ear adornments, and fancy jewellery are not permitted.
  • Students should wear their identity card at all times and will not be permitted inside the school without one.
  • Non-Sikh boys are not permitted to keep long hair and must be well-groomed with a regular haircut. Girls should tie their hair with a light blue rubber band or ribbon.

8Medical Advisory

A student suffering from any contagious or infectious disease is not permitted to attend school till he/she has fully recovered. On return to school, a medical fitness certificate duly signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner should be submitted to the office.
